Programs and Initiatives
The annual HeartKids Teen camp brings together teenagers affected by childhood heart disease from around Australia for several days of fun filled activities.
February is the best known as the month of love because of Valentine’s Day. For all HeartKids and their loved ones, it is also “HeartKids Awareness Month”. Childhood Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the most common birth abnormalities and the objective of this month is to raise awareness of this disease and raise vital funds to continue the work of HeartKids in Australia.
In 2014, HeartKids Australia launched Sweetheart Day on 14 February. To support us on Valentine’s Day, be a sweetheart and donate by sending a virtual Valentine’s gift at www.sweetheartday.org.au.
Cuppa for HeartKids
Running throughout August and September every year, Cuppa for HeartKids is a national community awareness and fundraising campaign to support HeartKids and its work. To find out more or register as a host, please check out the Cuppa website. You can also contact your local HeartKids for more information.
The Heart Beads Program hopes to enrich the experience of cardiac patients and their families at children’s hospitals throughout Australia. Children are rewarded with distinctive beads specific to each procedure or treatment for their courage and the beads help them tell their story.
