HeartKids is excited to announce the launch of “My Heart“, a new quality online resource dedicated to young people with childhood heart disease.
Peer support plays an important role for young people, and as such there is a section on the website where you can read stories written by your peers about their own experiences as a Heartkid.
If you are a Heartkid aged 13-22 or older, then you are invited to share your story on the website. You can do this anonymously or be identified by your first name. Writing your story is not that hard – below there is a PDF document that contains some tips to help you. And it doesn’t need to be that long – somewhere between 400 and 800 words.
Listed below is a link to a document that contains guidelines for writing your story. We need consent for young people aged under 16 from a parent, guardian or legally authorised person; if you are 16 years of age or older you can sign the consent form yourself.
Please send your story to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have any questions, please contact HeartKids Australia on 02 9460 7450.
