Nic Stack and Co. Noosa Tri 2021

I am doing the Noosa Triathlon with 2 great friends to help HeartKids deliver their services to those families when they need it most on behalf of Carlos Portillo.

For those that don't know, Carlos was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot. Tetralogy of Fallot is a group of 4 congenital heart defects. It includes narrowing of the pulmonary artery (this is the artery that carries blood from the heart to the lungs for oxygen), ventricular septal defect (a hole in the heart), overriding aorta (the artery that carries oxygen rich blood to the body is shifted to the right side and sits over the hole in the heart when it should be on the left) and finally hypertrophy of the right ventricular (the right lower chamber of the heart is larger than normal).

All children that are diagnosed with ToF require open heart surgery to correct it. Carlos has already had it and let me tell you he smashed it, who else do you know could have open heart surgery and be at the pub 2 weeks later?!

We would like to raise as much money and awareness for such a great cause because if you've had the pleasure of meeting Carlos, you'd understand these heart kids fill your heart with so much joy!
