Noosa Tri 2022 - Lou, Jullianne and Allyson

raised so far

of $3,000 goal

Within 6 months of each other both my daughter Frankie (3) and I have found out we have congenital heart disease. Ours came in the form of an ASD which is a hole in the heart, it has caused the right side of our heart to enlarge and weaken.

Late last year I underwent open heart surgery to have my hole patched and a valve repair done preventing any further damage whilst also improving my heart function. It is very uncommon for an ASD to be genetically passed down to a child however here we are 6 months later having recently been told Frankie has an identical diagnoses.

Frankie will soon need to undergo Open Heart Surgery to have her hole patched. As we have caught it early we are confident her heart will return to normal size and full function. Frankie and I are the lucky ones, our conditions can be treated and managed unlike so many. I am doing the Noosa Triathlon to show Frankie although this hurdle has been thrown at her she can still achieve any goal she sets out to do in life. She is a heartkid and heartkids are strong - nothing should ever hold her back.

The Noosa Tri will help HeartKids deliver their services to those families when they need it most. They are the only research funding body in Australia specifically focusing on causes, treatment and management of Congenital Heart Disease. We are so excited to join in on the fundraising for the 8 kids born with heart disease in Australia everyday ❤️ This year I will be completing the Triathlon as part of a team with my friend Jullianne running and sister Allyson swimming... I will do the cycling. Who knows maybe next year we will do the whole thing 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️
