HeartKids is excited to announce the appointment of Ms Fiona Ellis as the new Chief Executive Officer of HeartKids.
Commenting on the appointment, HeartKids Chairperson, Jan McClelland AM said, Fiona has been selected for the role after an extremely thorough and highly competitive recruitment process, during which the selection committee was fortunate to meet some exceptional candidates from a wide range of backgrounds.
Fiona is passionate about working with her teams and building strong stakeholder relationships to make a real difference to the lives of children and their families.
This is evidenced by her having previously spent many years working in the health and disability space in the Profit for Purpose sector, including being a part of the Legislative Council for the implementation of NDIS.
Fiona is currently General Manager Sales, Marketing and Service at St John Ambulance Australia (NSW), with previous roles including National Head of Disability and Private Services at KinCare, Executive Manager Marketing and Communications at Australian Foundation for Disability (AFFORD) and CEO of Variety the Children’s Charity (NSW).
I am confident that Fiona’s diverse background will be a great asset to HeartKids, including her experience in marketing and advertising, tourism and the aged care/disability sector. She has worked in government, commercial business and the for-purpose sectors in organisations of both small and large fiscal and geographic scale.
Fiona will be based in Sydney and will commence in the role of CEO on 11 January 2021.
The Board would like to acknowledge the excellent work of Brenna Chia and Dianna Crisp in stepping up to fill the CEO gap in the interim, as well as the tremendous support from the rest of the Leadership Team.
HeartKids would like to thank our supporters for your ongoing support for our work.
