Fundraiser/YAC support event
HeartKids Virtual Gingerbread House Fundraiser event 
The  Victorian Youth Advisory Committee is hosting a Gingerbread House Virtual fundraising event this December, just in time for Christmas.

You can purchase a Gingerbread House kit in preparation for this virtual event which will be happening on Sunday 13 December at 3pm.  We will collectively come together to build our Gingerbread houses, with the help of the experts at Gingerbread Folk.

Only 100 Gingerbread kits are available, so don't miss out. Once they are sold out, they are sold out. Further details regarding the flavours, prices, delivery etc can all be found on the order form.

HeartKids Support

Due to COVID-19 the HeartKids support team will not be attending The Royal Children's Hospital or Monash Cardiology Clinic until further notice. Virtual support activities are being conducted including afternoon teas, activities and special guests – please keep checking our Facebook pages for details.

Information sessions for adults with CHD Information sessions for adults with CHD

HeartKids is very excited to commence free monthly online Get-togethers and Education Sessions for all adults with Congenital Heart Disease or acquired heart disease during childhood and their family and friends.

These will be held via Zoom technology. This software is easy to use and will allow us to hold our adult sessions nationally for the first time! Please visit the website for further information

Virtual events for young people

Sundays 4.00pm - 5.00pm

Young people (teens and young adults - aged 12 - 25) are invited to attend virtual events hosted by the HeartKids Victoria Youth Advisory Committee. The events are held fortnightly on Sundays 4:00pm – 5:00pm. Please check Facebook for details of upcoming events.


Virtual afternoon tea for HeartKids families

While we are not present at The Royal Children’s Hospital for our regular morning teas we are coming up with different ways to support our families.

Burnie/Devonport Catch Up 
Sunday 13 December, 11am
A morning tea will be held at Berry Patch at Turners Beach on Sunday 13 December at 11:00am. There is a playground for the children and a light morning tea will be provided. Gifts which have been allocated from the Special Children’s Christmas Party will be distributed. All families are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to Claire on 0408 351 661. (If you have missed communication regarding the gifts from Special Children’s Christmas Party, please contact Amy on 0431 544 510).

Geelong Christmas Dinner
Adult's Only Event
An adult’s only dinner for parents or adults living with CHD will be held on Tuesday 8 December at 7:00pm at the Waurn Ponds Hotel, 1154 Princes Highway, Waurn PondsHeartKids will cover the cost of main meals and alcoholic drinks will be at your own cost. Due to covid restrictions we have a limited number of seats booked so it is essential to RSVP if you wish to attend. Please contact Libby Gibson on 0411 057 905 if you wish to register. 

Hobart Christmas Picnic
Sunday 29 November 2020
The Hobart Christmas Picnic will be held on Sunday 29 November aBonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. Families with a heart child or heart angel and adults with CHD are invited to pack a picnic lunch and come along to meet members of the Hobart HeartKids community to celebrate the end of a challenging year. Our new branch volunteers, Miriam and Ashlee, look forward to meeting you all. If you would like a ticket to either Circus Quirkus or World Festival of Magic, please email Lynette McCoullough on with your name, your heart child or heart angel's name, where you live and details of how many of your immediate family members would like to join the event.
All family members and age groups are welcome.  For the Virtual streaming events, you may watch the show on any of the streaming days and at any time.

Our volunteer Branch Coordinators do an incredible job of organising local catch ups in various locations across Victoria and Tasmania.
