Ronald McDonald House located inside QLD Children’s Hospital gives seriously ill children the best gift of all – their families. Our House is a warm and supportive home-away-from-home for families of children who are inpatients at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
We are one of the few Ronald McDonald Houses located in the hospital building. Our aim is to give parents and carers of critically ill children peace of mind, knowing that they are close-by to comfort their child whenever they are needed. We are a small but comfortable and modern facility, with 10 guest rooms, beverage bay and communal pantry and a lounge and TV area.
Conditions of Use
Keeping the family together can be extremely tough without support, which is why we offer accommodation for parents with seriously ill children receiving inpatient treatment in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Eligibility to stay at Ronald McDonald House QLD Children’s Hospital is determined by medical and social need and is authorised by the PICU team at QLD Children’s Hospital.
We try to accommodate the needs of families where we can, but this is always subject to availability. Priority is given to families whose children have been recently diagnosed, seriously injured or who require emergency treatment.
