Biography

Associate Professor Sarah Hope undertook specialist training in Paediatric Cardiology in the United Kingdom and a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology through the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne.

Sarah has extensive experience in non-invasive imaging for the diagnosis and follow-up of congenital heart disease and in the management of both children and adults with congenital heart disease. She also has an international reputation for her work on the assessment of vascular mechanical properties and potential associations with long term cardiovascular risk. Associate Professor Sarah Hope is currently Head of Paediatric Cardiology Services for MonashHeart and Monash Children’s, Southern Health.

Sarah is passionate about helping to eradicate Rheumatic Heart Disease from the islands of Tonga, travelling to Tonga each year to attend clinics in the Vaiola Hospital, and also to assist with the screening programme there.
