Biography
Dr Williams Parsonage is a Director of Queensland Cardiovascular Group and Senior Staff Cardiologist at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. His clinical interests are in general cardiology, cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), and the investigation and management of heart disease in pregnancy. Dr Parsonage is a graduate of the University of Nottingham Medical School in the UK, where he commenced cardiology training, and also undertook a clinical research Fellowship. During this time, he was awarded the postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine for research work in patients with chronic heart failure. He moved to Australia in 2000 to complete cardiology training at The Prince Charles Hospital, and also completed clinical Fellowships in the Queensland Heart Failure and Transplant Unit and the echocardiography department. At The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Dr Parsonage was instrumental in establishing a dedicated multidisciplinary clinic for the management of heart disease in pregnancy; the first clinic of its kind in Australia.
