Biography

Dr Aroney is a founding member of Queensland Cardiology. He graduated in medicine from the University of Queensland in 1979 and completed his cardiology training at Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside. Having gained a Heart Foundation Scholarship he worked as a clinical and research fellow at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, returning to Brisbane in 1989.

Dr Aroney served as Director of the Coronary Care Unit at Prince Charles Hospital from 1990-2005, where he founded the first comprehensive Chest Pain Assessment unit in Queensland. Currently Dr Aroney is the Director of Cardiology at Holy Spirit Northside Hospital, Chermside.
