Biography

Dr Masterson graduated in Medicine from the National University of Ireland, University College Galway in 1975. He completed his internship and post graduate medical training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital from 1976-1979 and at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital in Perth WA from 1980-1981. He trained in Cardiology at Royal Newcastle Hospital, Newcastle, NSW (1982), Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, NSW (1983) and at St Thomas’s Hospital London, UK (1984). Dr Masterson completed his Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing Fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Ohio, USA from 1985 – 1988. He was the director of Electrophysiology and Pacing at the Prince Charles Hospital, Chermside from 1988 – 2000. He is a founding member of Queesland Cardiology.
