Biography
Dr Abdul Rauf Sheikh MBBS MC FRACP FCSANZ is an interventional and general cardiologist. He specializes in complex coronary intervention procedures, coronary physiology, intra-coronary imaging (IVUS & OCT) and trans-catheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Abdul’s passion for medicine stems from his father who is also a cardiologist. The satisfaction and joy that results from successfully treating acute heart attack patients was the inspiration for him to pursue a career in interventional cardiology. Following his graduation from Allama Iqbal Medical College, Punjab University Lahore, in 2003 Abdul worked for a few years in Mayo Hospital Lahore, the biggest tertiary hospital in Punjab before moving to Australia in 2008. He went on to complete his basic physician training and advanced training in cardiology at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was awarded his FRACP in 2013.
