HeartKids Presents CHD Real Talk: Experiences of living with CHD

Stories

Introducing CHD Real Talk, an insightful new video series presented by HeartKids. Join us as we delve into the realities of living with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) with individuals and families from our CHD community.

In this series, we aim to demystify the experiences of those living with CHD and shed light on the unique challenges people face, answering questions that delve into the heart of the matter.

Has having a heart condition had an impact on your identity? How do you navigate disclosing your heart condition? What is it like to be the sibling of a heart kid? How do you emotionally and practically prepare for surgery?

Living with CHD can be a complex journey. Despite its prevalence, there remains a limited understanding of the various challenges faced by individuals and families. That’s why this series is so important—to bridge the gap in understanding, provide a platform for CHD voices to be heard and talk openly about the value of support.

It’s changed my outlook on life to be more appreciative of every day…
