Missing School

Summary of Support

Missing School is an Australian not-for-profit organisation supporting up to 1.2 million children across the country whose chronic physical or mental illness puts them at risk of missing school often, or for long periods. The organisation arranges free telepresence technology to keep these students connected in real time to their classroom, teachers, and peers while they are absent.

Alongside this technology, Missing School offers resources and guidance to both families and schools to help schools meet their obligations under the Disability Standards for Education, ensuring that children facing serious health challenges can continue their learning and maintain vital social connections, so that even when they can’t attend school in person, they are not behind.

About Organisation

We are working to solve the academic and social isolation facing kids with serious physical and mental illness and injury when they miss school.

HeartKids is not affiliated with this support group or organisation. It is the responsibility of the individual and/or their carer(s) to determine whether this or any other organisation on this website may provide some benefit to them.
