About HeartKids

HeartKids is Australia’s only national organisation dedicated to supporting children, young
people and families impacted by childhood-onset heart disease (CoHD), including congenital and acquired heart conditions.

Receiving a diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially if you are a new or expecting parent. You may find yourself navigating unfamiliar medical language, hospital stays, procedures
and uncertainty about what comes next which can be difficult.

HeartKids provides practical and emotional support, trusted information, and opportunities to connect with others who understand the experience.

Our support staff visit hospitals across Australia, offering in-person support through hospital admissions, during appointments, and alongside other significant moments in a family’s journey.

Many members of the team also bring lived experience, helping families to be informed, connected and supported through their child’s heart condition journey.
