Where: 555 Bourke Street, Melbourne, VIC
On Friday, March 24 from 1pm, 24 passionate HeartKids supporters and ambassadors will take the Melbourne City Plunge and abseil off the roof of 555 Bourke Street to raise funds and awareness for HeartKids, the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for people impacted by childhood heart disease (CHD), one of the largest causes of infant death in Australia.
Well-known local personalities who have gathered their teams to abseil down 27 floors include renowned Australian actor, Gyton Grantley, Australian Ninja Warrior, Sarah Blackmore, and Adam Densten from Gogglebox.
Norman Hutton, Victorian State Manager for HeartKids is encouraging the people of Melbourne, including the media, to come down to Bourke Street and join the fun. Sarah Blackmore and her team, which includes two additional ninjas, Ash Herbert and Troy Cullen, will be first off the roof at 2.25pm, followed by Adam Densten’s team at 2.45pm and Gyton Grantley’s team at 3pm.
“All three of our celebrity ambassadors are dedicated HeartKids supporters who have heart children in their own lives. Gyton Grantley is great uncle to a heart child who sadly passed away, Sarah Blackmore’s niece is a heart child and Adam Densten is the brother of an adult heart child. This event is very close to their hearts. Spectators can live vicariously by watching them take the plunge, having pledged to abseil down more than 80 meters to raise funds for children and families impacted by childhood heart disease.”
