New Music Supporting Heart Health Education

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Young Person

HeartKids is pleased to share two songs now available in our Resource Library: Look After Your Heart (One Life) and Rheumatic Heart Fever: Not To Be Played With.

Created by local communities in the Northern Territory, facilitated by Children’s Ground, these songs use music to share important health messages in a way that is engaging, accessible and easy to remember.

Look After Your Heart (One Life) encourages children to build healthy everyday habits, with messages about washing hands and faces, brushing teeth, eating well, staying active and getting enough sleep. It’s a great resource for parents, carers, educators and community groups looking for a fun way to talk with children about staying healthy and looking after their hearts.

Rheumatic Heart Fever: Not To Be Played With focuses on raising awareness of rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease (RHD). The song highlights the importance of recognising symptoms, treating sore throats and skin infections early, keeping up with regular treatment and protecting long-term heart health. It can be used by families, schools, health services and community organisations to support education and awareness about rheumatic fever and RHD.

Music can be a powerful tool for sharing knowledge, starting conversations and supporting healthier communities. These resources offer an engaging way to learn about heart health while reinforcing messages that can make a real difference.

Listen to both songs and explore the resources today in the HeartKids Resource Library.
