Two Feet & A Heartbeat COVID-19 UPDATE
The 2020 Two Feet & A Heartbeat Walk is evolving as restrictions in each State change. It is still going ahead but a bit different in some parts of the country - walk with us on the 18th October
The health and safety of our participants, volunteers and staff remains our top priority, and as such we are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation in each State working closely with local authorities and health officials.
With the current situation evolving we have made the difficult decision that ALL Victorian, New South Wales and ACT Sites will be run as a VIRTUAL EVENT.
All other sites will have a COVID-19 Action Plan in place which will include social distancing and hand sanitising measures among other requirements. Our Terms and Conditions for registering to walk have been updated to include COVID-19 related requirements. Please read these carefully. We will communicate any COVID-19 event related updates through email and social channels.
There will also be the option to do a Virtual Walk when you register if you are uncomfortable joining larger crowds (numbers will be capped at each venue in most states at 500 people to comply with the regulations). Please note though that we will be taking every precaution we can to ensure your safety and for those States that are currently COVID-19 free, the event will run as 'normal' with activities, food and entertainment provided.
If your circumstance change closer to the time and you would like to go virtual or have chosen virtual but would like to join in at the location please email us so we can manage numbers.
For this and if you have any questions please contact us through firstname.lastname@example.org
In the meantime we welcome you all to this years walk!!
What does going Virtual mean?
This year we have the option for all of our community to do the Two Feet & A Heartbeat Walk on the 18th October virtually! But what does that mean?
It simply means that together with your family and (socially distanced) friends you can still walk the 4km in honour of the 4 lives lost to CHD each week but just in your local neighbourhood.
We will have everything else that you would normally expect at one of our events happening but just on-line from the Welcome to Country, memorial service and entertainment - sorry the whiff of the sausage sizzle won't be there we will leave that up to you to replicate.
When you register we will send out your socks and flags to be worn on the day and encourage you to dress in your red and blue as you walk the streets of your suburb in support of all the Heart Angels and heart kids across Australia.
We look forward to seeing our community in action - even if it is a bit different this year.
The schedule of on-line activities includes:
9.30: Welcome from HeartKids
9:45: Welcome to Country (from WA) Facebook Live
10:00: Memorial Service (Pre - Recorded available on the website)
11:00am : Cool Down (yoga) pre recorded available on website
12:30pm: Thank you from HeartKids ambassador
Other activities available include
- Craft activities to do at home
- Spotify list for while you walk
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will have limited ability to register on the day. We encourage you to book before the event.
On-line registrations close the Thursday before the event date to ensure we have your socks and flags ready for collection on the day.
This year we are not offering an early bird discount but rather will be having a lower price up until the day before the event. The price includes postage of the socks and flags but an additional $12 will be charged if you have purchased merchandise at time of checkout. Delivery option cut-off is 2 weeks prior to the event date to ensure it reaches you on time.
We have 35 locations across Australia. Please note some of the regional locations will be held on either the 11th or 25th October. The Victorian, NSW & ACT Locations will now be virtual for the safety of all involved.

Making it safer for our community:
This year in order to support social distancing measures at the event, ALL your socks, flags and any merchandise purchased will be posted to you prior to the event - a cut-off date of 2 weeks prior to the event will apply. If you register after this you will need to pick up at your venue.
Postage costs for the socks & flags are included in the registration fee BUT an additional $12 postage will be charged if you purchase merchandise - due to the bulky nature of these.
What happens if the event in my area is cancelled due to COVID-19?
If Two Feet and a Heartbeat is cancelled due to COVID-19 by the local health authorities, you will be able to do the virtual event for all those that have already registered and paid for that event. The registration fee will remain the same for the virtual event and will include socks and flag delivery.
Please see the Terms & Conditions for taking part in the event here. You will be asked to agree to these T&C's upon registering for the event.
